bringing the work home

when i got home around 6.15am today, MOH’s car was gone from the parking area. he did tell me last night that he might have to be at work at 6 today but i didn’t think he was really going to do it. last week, he came home almost 11.30pm one night.

he works a lot of overtime. early starts, late finishes. and every now and again, he has problems with people he works with because what he does depends on other people doing their things and they don’t always do what they’re supposed to do.

i don’t envy him. sure, he has a desk job. he sits on a comfy chair in a comfy room. he gets to use his brain. blah blah blaaaaaah

i don’t have a desk job. i work four hours a night but those hours are hectic and most of the time, i have to be on my feet around 20 hours a week. i work mostly with papers that my hands are full of papercuts. and i barely use my brain. .

but when i finish for a day, i finish for that day. when i leave work, i don’t have to think about it anymore. i don’t go home thinking what i have to do tomorrow or what i didn’t finish that day. when i’m done at work, i’m done. and i don’t need to work overtime so often. every now and again i do but even then it’s only for max an hour. and i can pick up extra hours but it’s all up to me. when i want to, i can, when i don’t feel like it, i don’t. and whether i work extra hours or not, the work is going to be done anyway.

sure, i don’t intend to do this job forever. i’d love to have a job where i get to use my brain but i hope when i do get that job, it won’t the kinda job with lots of ‘homeworks’. because that’s what it is, isn’t it? when you take home the work, it’s like having homework. and i don’t have a good track with homeworks, i used to copy from friends.

being a grown-ups sure is tough. and to think that i used to complain about school. ha!

……about the job front. Perhaps it’s why Denmark is voted as the happiest nation in the world. People here don’t seem all ambitious about their jobs and youngsters refuse to go to the universities. They just want “ordinary” jobs with no responsibilities, the kind of job that you forget when you get home *sigh*

yes, i finish work at 6am 🙂 it’s not that bad. i’m used to being up at night now.

people here don’t give a crap about their work either. a lot of them just go to work because they have to but they’re not really doing their job. makan gaji buta gitu deh. but there are people with good work ethics, and obviously my husband is one of the few.

and while i don’t take my work home, i wouldn’t call it without responsibilities. i mean, whatever job you do, you still have to do it properly and do it right.

Life is easier here, no competition at school cos teacher don’t give you mark. No competition for work market too, because you can survive well with any kind of job here..Makanya byk yg gak mau sekolah tinggi2, toh gaji gak beda jauh katanya. Kalo gak kerja tinggal daftar ke kantor sosial 😦
I just feel that ppl don’t work hard enough here.. terlalu santai.. what a waste of life.

makanya anak2 di sini sekolahnya males2an. not long ago baca berita di koran lokal, daerah sini banyak banget yang putus sekolah. jadi videregående-nya putus di tengah jalan gitu. bosen sekolah katanya. ga ngerti di tempat lain orang2 mau sekolah ga bisa 😦

dan yg tunjangan sosial itu bener bisa bikin orang malas. kl krn sakit ga bisa kerja sih pantes lah, tp kl krn males kerja, malu ga sih???
