too good to be true

MOH read an article on the newspaper about how pigs were killed to produce pork at some dodgy slaughtering places and he came to me and announced that he was going to stop eating meat.

my meat-loving husband has decided to quit eating meat. altogether.

he’s going to finish all the meat product that we have in our freeer (about 10 kilos of them) but i’m not allowed to buy more meat.

i don’t know how long this is going to last but he said he’s decided.

not even going to eat christmas dinner, he said. not even the bacon that his dad brought back from england. for his breakfast sandwich today, he got butter, cream cheese and slices of cheese. no ham. and tomorrow, he’s getting sandwich with green salad leaf, cucumber, tomatoes and cheese.

i’m writing this here so it’s down in writing. now he can’t say he never said it. yesterday, 17.04.09, MOH said he’s giving up meat. there. everybody who reads this is a witness.

May I congratulate you on the good news? 😀 It’s kind of difficult to believe that a Scandinavian Viking want to give up meat, isnt it? 😛 but I taught my boyfriend to do the same by serving him as much veggies as I could 😀

i know, it’s quite shocking. when he said to me the first time, i kinda went, yeah, right. but he seems serious about it. so fingers crossed he won’t miss meat 🙂

seems like the only vegies they eat here are potatoes and carrots. at summer, i make salad with almost all vegies i can find at the supermarket. colourful fresh salad with yummy homemade dressing… i can’t wait for summer.

I try to go to the Asian shops as often as I could these days. Veggies sold there are not less expensive than meat in the supermarket for sure, but at least it’s better than meat. I can’t rely on the local supermarkets here too. I could only get broccoli, salad, carrots and potatoes like you said.

the vegies at the asian shop i go to are soooo expensive, it scares me. and most of the time they’re wilted and sad-looking, not very appetising. people here don’t know how deprived they are of good vegies.

    m – i know. and he’s a steak-bacon-burger kinda guy.
