the grey sky and the rain

when i went to bed this morning, it was raining. the sky was invisible courtesy of the dark, heavy cloud. i went to bed wearing a long-sleeved top (wool). i even had socks on. then i curled up under my doona and hugged my knees to my chest. it was deliciously cold.

in the middle of the day, i woke up to let the girls in. or out, i can’t really remember. the sky was blue. the sun was out. it was warm. i took my socks off and went back to bed.

when i finally decided to wake up, it was positively spring outside. i had to change my top to a thin cotton tank top and pin my hair up.

i know i was so happy when the sun first came out of hiding after the long winter but i just remember something. i LOVE grey sky! i LOVE the rain! and i idon’t like warm weather. ditto the sun because i love darkness so the sun kinda ruins it for me.

i think… i have this suspicion that i kinda… that i might… oh fine! i miss winter, alright. i missmissmissmissmiss winter!

You know what, I just had the same thoughts today – the warmest day this year in Denmark and quickly realised how odd the statement was.

We are longing for sun when it’s winter and cold when it’s summer. How human LOL I don’t like when it’s too much light outside (I get confused with the time of the day) and that it’s blinding to sit in my livingroom that faces west.

i know, never satisfied with what we have 🙂

i’ve had the blinds in our living room and kitchen down for days now because it’s been so bright. windows and balcony door opened too. and it’s not even summer yet.
